USWRF Adds Amy Shopkorn as New Board Member

Shopkorn, a former rugby player and graduate of Bowdoin College, is Vice President for Operations at NASPA - Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education in Washington, DC. She also has a Masters in Higher Education Administration from George Washington University and served as an assistant coach for the American University Women’s Rugby Team. Shopkorn has leveraged her professional experience in non-profit operations to support grassroots efforts in rugby with her co-founding of Bowdoin WRFC Alumni Network and support of other programs like Polar Bear Rugby Camp at Bowdoin College, The Rugger's Edge, a college advisory firm focused on unique needs of rugby players, and the Washington DC Furies Ruggerfest tournament.

“Our Board of Directors got to know Amy during the ramp up to our last WRCRA conference. She is a great fit and addition to our team,” said Danita Knox, USWRF board chair and president. “She brings in needed expertise in membership development, program management and event planning that supports our growing portfolio of programs.”

With this appointment, USWRF Board of Directors is now back to its full size of seven directors. Other directors include Bev Armstrong, Lisa Durham, Kerri Heffernan, Danita Knox, Mary Money, and Suzi Rosen.
