15 Under 30 Award
Women’s rugby, like most sports, tends to think of itself in a linear way – we start with youth teams and with hard work and commitment some athletes reach the pinnacle: the Women’s National or Olympic Teams. Longtime players, coaches, refs and administrators nod at this description but also recognize that nothing we love is ever that linear. Rugby is layered, circular, a tangled experience – and somewhere in our rugby career we recognized that the sport was teaching us things about ourselves that we hadn’t anticipated.
Recognizing the complexity of the ‘rugby experience,’ the USWRF has created the annual 15 Under 30 Award, highlighting those who exemplify the best qualities of rugby and bring those qualities to the field, to their teams, to the sport and to the communities in which they live. These are exemplary leaders who remind us what we really love about the game.
